Terms of Service
Please read these terms carefully before using HKMAC AI services. By engaging our services, you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions.
1. Service Description
HKMAC AI ("we", "us", "our") provides pre-configured AI Mac workstations and in-person Mac AI upgrade services ("BYOM" — Bring Your Own Mac) in Hong Kong. Our services include hardware procurement and bundling, AI software installation, configuration, optimisation, training, and ongoing support.
All AI software we install is open-source and runs entirely on local hardware. We do not provide cloud-based AI processing, and no client data leaves the device unless the client explicitly configures third-party integrations.
2. Eligibility
To use our services, you must:
- Be located in Hong Kong or able to attend an in-person service appointment in Hong Kong
- Be at least 18 years of age or have the consent of a legal guardian
- For BYOM services: own or have authorised possession of a Mac with Apple Silicon (M1 chip or later)
- For Bundle purchases: no hardware ownership requirement — we source the Mac on your behalf
3. Service Tiers
Mac Bundles (Pre-Configured AI Workstations)
We offer tiered bundles that include Apple hardware and a fully configured AI software stack:
- AI Starter — Mac mini M4, 16GB/256GB
- AI Essentials — Mac mini M4, 32GB/512GB
- AI Professional — Mac mini M4 Pro, 64GB/512GB
Mac Studio configurations are also available for enterprise clients. Exact specifications, included software, and pricing are detailed on our website and may be updated from time to time.
BYOM (Bring Your Own Mac) Upgrade Service
For clients who already own a compatible Mac with Apple Silicon:
- Essential — Core AI tools and basic configuration (30-day support)
- Pro — Full AI suite with advanced optimisation (90-day support)
- Enterprise — Custom configuration with workflow automation (90-day support)
4. Pricing & Payment
- All prices are quoted in Hong Kong Dollars (HKD) unless otherwise stated
- Prices listed on our website are indicative and subject to change without prior notice
- A confirmed quotation will be provided before any work commences. The quoted price is binding once accepted by both parties
- For Bundle purchases: full payment is due before service delivery
- For BYOM services: payment is due upon completion of the service, unless otherwise agreed in writing
- We accept bank transfer, FPS, PayMe, and other payment methods as specified at the time of booking
5. Service Delivery
Our standard service timeline is 3 business days from receipt of hardware (for Bundles) or receipt of your Mac (for BYOM). This includes software installation, configuration, optimisation, and quality assurance testing.
- All services are delivered in person in Hong Kong
- Appointments are scheduled via our booking system at hkmac.ai/book
- Delivery timelines are estimates and may vary depending on hardware availability and service complexity
- A handoff session is included with every service, during which we walk you through the installed tools and answer questions
6. Software Licensing
All AI software installed as part of our service is open-source and distributed under their respective licences, including but not limited to:
- MIT Licence — Ollama, Whisper
- Apache 2.0 — Continue.dev, PrivateGPT
- Meta Community Licence — Llama models
- Various open-source licences — Stable Diffusion, Mistral/Mixtral, and other included tools
HKMAC AI configures, installs, and optimises this software but does not own, develop, or independently licence it. You are responsible for reviewing and complying with the licence terms of each individual software component.
Our service fee covers the expertise of installation, configuration, optimisation, and support — not the software itself. The open-source software is free; our value lies in making it work seamlessly on your hardware.
7. Hardware
For Bundle purchases, the package includes genuine Apple hardware sourced from authorised retailers in Hong Kong.
- Hardware carries the standard Apple manufacturer warranty
- All hardware warranty claims must be made directly with Apple or an Apple Authorised Service Provider
- HKMAC AI does not provide hardware repair or replacement services
- Our AI configuration does not void the Apple hardware warranty
For BYOM services, you retain full ownership of your hardware at all times. We exercise reasonable care when handling your device, but we recommend backing up all data before your appointment.
8. Support Plans
Post-service support is included with every tier as specified at the time of purchase. Additional support plans are available:

Support plan pricing and scope are subject to change. Active subscribers will be notified at least 30 days before any changes take effect.
9. Data & Privacy
We take your privacy seriously. Our key commitments:
- All AI processing runs locally on your Mac — no data is sent to external servers by the AI tools we install
- You retain full ownership and control of all data on your device at all times
- During service delivery, we may access your device solely for the purpose of installing and configuring the agreed-upon software
- We do not retain copies of any client data after service completion
- Personal information collected for service delivery (name, contact details, appointment data) is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy

10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by the laws of Hong Kong:
- HKMAC AI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to the use of our services
- Our total aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed the total amount paid by you for the specific service giving rise to the claim
- We are not liable for any data loss. Clients are solely responsible for backing up their data before, during, and after our service
- We are not liable for issues caused by third-party software updates, macOS updates, or hardware failures outside our control
- We do not guarantee the performance, accuracy, or output quality of any AI model, as these depend on model design, input data, and hardware capabilities
11. Refunds & Cancellations
- Appointments may be rescheduled or cancelled free of charge with at least 24 hours' notice
- Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice may incur a cancellation fee of up to 20% of the quoted service price
- For Bundle purchases: refunds are available within 7 days of delivery if the hardware is unused and in original condition. AI configuration service fees are non-refundable once work has commenced
- For BYOM services: service fees are non-refundable once the configuration work has been completed
- If we are unable to complete a service due to hardware incompatibility or other technical limitations, a full refund of any service fees paid will be issued
12. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated via email to active clients and support plan subscribers.
Your continued use of our services after any modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
13. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hong Kong.
14. Trademark Disclaimer
HKMAC AI is an independent AI configuration service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or authorised by Apple Inc. Mac, Mac mini, Mac Studio, macOS, and Apple Silicon are trademarks of Apple Inc., registered in the United States and other countries. All other trademarks are the property of their respective owners.
Our use of Apple product names is for descriptive purposes only — to identify the hardware on which our services are performed. We do not claim any association with or endorsement by Apple Inc.
